Humber College Plays Jamieson

HumberOn Tuesday, March 12th 2013, Mark Promane’s Humber “B” Big Band will be presenting an evening of my music featuring tenor saxophonist Alex Dean at the Rex in Toronto, Canada. They will be playing some Danjam Orchestra classics and premiering two arrangements of Alex’s Dean’s original tunes that I have just completed. Come down and check out the next generation of jazz musicians. It is sure to be an exciting evening!

Freddie Hubbard Project Announcement!

TeaserTrumpeter Ingrid Jensen and composer Daniel Jamieson join forces to pay tribute to Freddie Hubbard. Not only skilled at the trumpet, Hubbard was an innovative composer and left behind a collection of brilliant compositions. Jamieson will be arranging a selection of these works for 17-piece big band to feature Jensen, and they plan to record and tour with the project in 2014.

Save the Metropole

I urge you to sign this petition to stop the Dutch government from pulling the Metropole Orkest’s funding. This is the amazing jazz/pop symphonic orchestra that I have had the privilege of arranging for, for the past year. They have a long history of almost 68 years and are the only orchestra of its kind in the world. Please please please sign this petition!
