Gil Evans Project

I saw an amazing concert tonight and wanted to share my experience with all of you. The Eastman School of Music Chamber Jazz Ensemble performed a collection of newly discovered works by jazz legend Gil Evans. The concert took place in Saint Peter’s Church in Manhattan. It was jammed packed and the music sounded absolutely incredible! Guests artists included Phil Woods, Andy Bey and Frank Kimbrough. Ryan Truesdell directed the band. He has put together a project on Artist Share to record this wonderful music. If you are a Gil Evans fan please take the time to read more about this exciting project.
